This can vary between parking lots, however parking at a charging station without charging should generally be avoided. Please check the information provided at and around the charging station to avoid incurring any additional costs or fines.
Parking lots can have the following limitations:
- Limitation of parking duration according to traffic regulations (e.g. two hours with parking disc):A fine for exceeding the parking time can only be imposed by the police or public authorities and is always decoupled from the payment for electricity. BP/Aral does not collect any fines.
- Limitation of charging time at the charging station by the charge point operator (CPO):In order to avoid blocking a charging station, some charge point operators may - in addition to kWh and time-based billing - also charge for parking or blocking the charging station after the actual charging process is completed. These fees are then part of your "charging costs" and are also billed via the Fuel & Charge card.
For example, a tariff can look like this: 0.50 € for starting the charging process + 0.29 € per kWh + 0.80 € per 15 minutes parking after charging your car.
