Yes, you either can use your Fuel & Charge card independently at charging stations with a card reader, or you can start/stop a charging session by using the BP/Aral Fuel & Charge app at supported charging stations.
In order to charge using the Fuel & Charge app you must:
- have an active BP Plus/Aral account,
- have registered an account on the BP/Aral Fuel & Charge app and are logged in to the app, and
- have linked an activated BP/Aral Fuel & Charge card to your account during registration.
Steps for starting a charging session by using the Fuel & Charge app:
- Connect your electric vehicle to a charge point at the charging station with a suitable charging cable.
- At some (fast) charging stations you may need to select the chosen charge point on a display first. If this is not required, proceed to the next step.
- Choose the charge point you are standing at from the app and tap on “Charge”. Compare the charge point ID (EVSE-ID) displayed on the app with the one on the label at the charging station to ensure they match, and then tap “Start charging”.
- After a few seconds, either the charging station display or an LED will indicate that your charging session has started.
Once the charging session is complete, open the app and tap on “Stop charging” to unlock the connector so that you can disconnect it from your car.
If you do not want to charge your vehicle to 100%, you can stop the charging session at any time.
